  Katherine Roman, DDS, CAGS, MScD

  Dentist

  Dr. Roman, originally from Colombia, brings over 20 years of experience to the field of dentistry. She earned her dental degree in 2003 from Universidad Del Valle in Cali, Colombia, and worked as a general dentist before moving to the U.S. to further her education. Dr. Roman then relocated to Miami, where she completed a three-year Postgraduate Program at Nova Southeastern University, earning certifications in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, Operative Dentistry, and a Master’s Degree in Science. During her residency, Dr. Roman received extensive training in a wide range of dental specialties, including esthetics, restorative dentistry, surgical extractions, implant restorations, removable prosthodontics, and the care of special needs and medically compromised patients. She is dedicated to continually advancing her knowledge, always seeking out new technologies to improve patient comfort and oral health. Dr. Roman stays current with the latest advancements in the field through numerous continuing education courses and national seminars. As a leading expert in Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Roman has been featured on various local and national media outlets, offering her expert commentary on oral health and cutting-edge dental technology. She has appeared on renowned networks like Univision and was honored with an award for excellence in general dentistry in 2015. Dr. Roman is also an active member of both the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Association.   Dr. Francisco Español, originally from Colombia, graduated in 1997 from Javeriana University in Bogotá. In 2002, he decided to pursue a better future in the United States and arrived in the country with the goal of validating his dentistry degree. He joined Nova Southeastern University as a faculty member for undergraduate students and, in 2010, earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Throughout his training, Dr. Español discovered his passion for endodontic treatments, which led him to specialize in this field. He graduated as an Endodontics specialist in 2012 and is an active member of the American Endodontics Association. He attends numerous conferences worldwide to stay updated on the latest technologies and improve care for his patients. He firmly believes that hard work pays off, a principle that guides his professional and personal life. In his free time, Dr. Español enjoys traveling, making new friends, spending time with his family, and playing tennis. His dedication to both dentistry and his personal passions reflects his commitment to excellence in all areas of his life.

  Dr. D-Empaire is a highly skilled and compassionate dentist with advanced training in periodontology and oral biology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the Central University of Venezuela, School of Dentistry, before continuing her education at the esteemed Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. There, Dr. D-Empaire completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology and later achieved a Master of Science in Dentistry with a focus on Oral Biology. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. [Last Name] has a strong commitment to dental education. She served as a full-time Clinical Instructor in the Department of General Dentistry at Boston University, where she mentored dental students and played a key role in shaping the future of dental care. Her time at Boston University Dental Health Center allowed her to provide high-quality care to patients while contributing to the development of dental professionals. Dr. D-Empaire also held the position of Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where she worked within the Division of Community-Based Programs in the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science.   Pilar Avellaneda, DDS

  Dentist

  Dr. Pilar was born and raised in Bogotá D.C., Colombia. In 1991, she received her dental degree from the University El Bosque in Bogotá, Colombia. After working for a children’s foundation for three years, she decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry at the same school. In 1999, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL. She received her degree of Doctor in Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University after completing one year of Advanced Education in General Dentistry and three years of the International Dental Program. At present, Dr. Pilar has permanently relocated to Florida following her twelve-year tenure in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Avellaneda’s primary goal is to provide her patients with the best dental experience and to involve parents in the field of dental education and prevention. In her leisure time, Dr. Avellaneda enjoys reading, exercising, watching soccer games, and constantly updating herself on everything related to her profession.

  Dr. Maria Isabel Guevara received Her Dental Degree from the prestigious Universidad Autonoma de Manizales in Colombia, afterwards Her passion for Orthodonctics carried her back to study for 3 years full time the specialization of Orthodontics in Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia where she obtained Her MS degree in the specialty of Orthodontics; Her anger to continue learning pushes her to do an Advanced program in Orthodontics at University of Illinois at Chicago. After 4 years living and practicing at Chicago in the Orthodontics field she and her family moved to South Florida where She was accepted to and completed the 2 years Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program in Larkin Community Hospital. Her experience in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics allows for better outcomes, happier and healthier patients.
